Get outside the box. We’ve all heard it, it’s cliché at this point—to the extent that we roll our eyes and move on. Therein lies the problem. Most of us know people that have worked tirelessly at an idea or a business. They’ve developed it and discovered success—with all the rewards that come with such perseverance. The common denominator is usually hard work. It’s not some secret formula.
We also know plenty of folks who might work in a slightly “different” way. They’re not lazy or dishonest; they just know the angles and play the game very well. They set up corporations, tax shelters, holding companies—they work hard, but they also work smart—more like playing chess. But they make the most of their talents, and they leave very little to chance. And rest assured, they don’t play the “what-if” game.
We’ve heard the clichés; we know what we should be doing to find success. But we leave a lot on the table. If you find down time, make it pay. Find something to do—something that will benefit your business in the long run. Real estate is NOT a get rich quick scheme. It’s not multilevel marketing. It’s work. It’s anticipation. It’s consistency. It’s innovation. It’s a business. And like most businesses, it’s as strong or as weak as the effort that goes into it. You have every reason to fail in this industry, especially at present. Give yourself a reason to succeed.
